As a Principal and Project Director at Heartland, LLC, Chris blends sophisticated financial analytics with public policy and business strategies to advise clients on a wide array of real estate and planning initiatives. He manages multi-disciplinary internal and external teams engaged in predevelopment financial analysis, regulatory analysis, property acquisitions and dispositions, land use policy and the structuring of public/private development agreements. Prior to joining Heartland, Chris worked for the Corporate Executive Board in Washington, DC where he was a senior associate within the firm’s wealth management consulting practice. While he was enrolled in graduate school, Chris completed a HUD Community Development Fellowship while working as an acquisitions analyst for National Equity Fund, a low-income housing tax credit syndicate.
Chris holds Masters degrees in Urban Planning and Public Administration from the University of Washington, with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Development through the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies. He received his Bachelor of Arts, Honors degree in Political Science from Gonzaga University, and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Washington. Chris is an active member of Seattle’s planning and development community, and recently served two terms as a member of the Seattle Planning Commission. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, and guest lectures for the MSRE Program through the Runstad Center and the CRE Certificate Program, both at the University of Washington. Chris serves on the PSRC’s Growing Transit North Corridor Task Force.
