Maximilian Merkel

Maximilian is pursuing a Double Degree Master’s in Real Estate (DMSRE) at the Runstad Department of Real Estate (University of Washington) and at the International Real Estate Business School (IREBS, University of Regensburg). He is proud to be part of the real estate program, not only to enhance his real estate finance and development knowledge, but also to improve his language skills, expand his network and having a cultural experience.

Maximilian holds a B.Sc. degree in Management (Construction, Real Estate and Infrastructure), which he received from the Bauhaus University Weimar. During his study, he gained additional knowledge in Architecture. He interned in a project management firm to help with the coordination of contractors as well as setting up project schedules and understanding construction plans. He also interned at Albert Speer & Partner and Bankhaus Metzler during high school. Both internships led to his interest in real estate, architecture and financing.

Beside his studies, Maximilian is a passionate traveler, who did a study abroad year in Australia during high school and a world trip after graduating. In addition, he is a big soccer fan and used to be a soccer manager for a U-12 team back in Germany.
