Shohei Uwatoko

Shohei Uwatoko comes to the Runstad Program with a unique background, having been born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.

He received a Bachelor of Art in Business Administrations from KEIO University in Japan. After graduating from the University, Shohei joined NTT Urban Development Corporation, which is a listed real estate development firm in Japan. In the company, from June 2010 to May 2011, Shohei worked for a property manager to manage two class A buildings whose operating annual budget is about $50 million. From October 2011 to April 2013, Shohei worked for a leasing manager. In that position, he closed office building leases of 30,000sqf and 35,000sqf. Since May 2013, he has been working as an assistant manager in the Global Business Department where he dealt with feasibility studies of several kinds of properties in Southeast Asia such as the Philippines, Cambodia and Singapore. Moreover, he was in charge of launching the Singapore Branch of NTT Urban Development Corporation.

The experience in Southeast Asia inspired him to study academic real estate development theory at the Runstad Center in the University of Washington.
