Xiao Ding

Hello there, welcome to my webpage! My name is Xiao Ding. In case you can’t tell, I am actually made in China! Born and raised in Beijing, I came to the US and started college at San Francisco State University but later obtained my bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Because I have always wanted to be involved in the building industry, I chose to study Civil Engineering. After college, maybe because I just like winter a little too much, I decided to stay in Minnesota and get a feel of what it is like to be a civil engineer. It turned out although I did like to be an engineer I aspire to do something more exciting on a larger scale. So I decided to go back to school to study real estate! Thus far I am very pleased with the decision that I made and am eager to find out what it is out there for me to explore in the real estate industry.

I have a couple of years of experience as a civil engineer across different disciplines. I have worked on commercial buildings including office buildings, storage units, wineries as well as residential development projects on site design, stormwater management as well as structural design. Given the engineering endeavors undertaken, I have a strong technical foundation I hope to capitalize on to build my future real estate career. I am proud to be a part of this year’s class comprised of some of the most
outstanding people from all kinds of background. I intend to explore opportunities within all aspects of real estate. My email address is to the left so shoot me a note if you have questions or concerns. I am optimistic that I will have gained more than expected from the Runstad Department of Real Estate. It’s time to build some incredible buildings!
